Dear Mr. Kuniyoshi;
With regard to the art magazine I mentioned in my previous letter you will receive a one year's subscription of the following five periodicals I have chosen:

ATELIER, published by Atelier Sha, Tokyo
MIZUE, published by Bijutsu Shuppan Sha, Tokyo
BIJUTSU-TECHO, published by Bijutsu Shuppan Sha, Tokyo
MUSEUM, edited by the National Museum, publ. by Bijutsu Shuppan Sha, Tokyo
GEIJUTSU SHINCHO, published by Shincho Sha, Tokyo

These publishers have enthusiastically supported our plan of exchanging Japanese and American art magazines and have offered an year's complementary subscription. All of the publishers are firmly established organizations or high reputation. They felt the necessity of keeping in close touch with artistic trends in the United States and of introducing those trends to Japanese art circles.

In this connection, the publishers are requesting a reciprocal use of copyrights. In other words, they are asking if they could obtain rights to translate and reproduce material from the American magazines which are sent us in exchange for the blanket use, including translation of any material printed in the Japanese magazines sent to the United State. If such an arrangement could be made, they feel it would be a great stride forward toward closer understanding and appreciation of each other, not to mention the incentive and encouragement it would give the contemporary artists of Japan.

If you could be instrumental toward making an arrangement with the American publishers, we would certainly be very grateful.

We are unable to send all of the back numbers of the varieties I have mentioned because some are out of print. However, I am sending 14 issues of four varieties by parcel post which you will receive some time after this letter. For the coming issues will be delivered you regularly. The list of the first batch is as follows:

Atelier 304 March 1952 1 copy
Extra number Atelier 14 Feb. 1952 1 copy
