Mr. Yasuo Kuniyoshi

Dear Mr. Kuniyoshi;

I thank you for your letter of April 4 which I have duly received. I am sorry to hear of your illness, and hope you will recover soon. As for myself, I have completely recovered and am feeling in the best of health.

With regard to the Carnegie International, I received on April 8 a letter from Mr. John O' Connor, Jr., Associate Director, inviting 16 Japanese representatives to the exhibition, and in which was enclosed the entry forms. He was writing in the place of Mr. Washburn.

I, at once, contacted the Mainichi Press as well as the artists invited, and am actively preparing for the collection and shipping for the paintings.

I am enclosing copies of his letter to me and my reply for your reference.

It is, indeed, a matter of felicitation and joy that your efforts have borne fruit, and I wish again to emphasize my profound gratitude for all you have done toward materializing our participation in the exhibition.

I assure you I am doing everything possible on this side to see that preparations proceed smoothly and promptly.

Hoping this letter finds you completely recovered and in the best of health, I remain.

Yours most sincerely,
