Dear Mr. Mandell:
  Thank you for your letter of July 21.
  I was rather surprised to find that the designs have to be carried out immediately.
  As I stated in my last letter I am very interested in doing whatever I can for China War Relief but at the present moment my time is fully occupied with running a summer painting class, working on a war poster for the government, and trying to do my own painting besides.
  I am very sorry that I wont be able to do the sketches for some time but at a future time I will be very glad to cooperate.
