I reply to circulated Letter of June the 9th 1866. I have the honor to state that I have no laborers or articles employed in them. Monthly Report for May will show all officers Agents and employees in the service of the Bureau for So. Dist of N.C. at that time, excepting Quarter Masters and Surgeon's Dept. and by recent orders from the Hd. Qrs. Ass't. Comm'r. every thing pertaining to the Qr. Master's Dept, has been turned over to Post. 2. and all Clerks and employees have been discharged with but one exception. that of Mr. Borden, who by authority of said order I had a right to return, and is now my employ as Clerk at there Hd. Qrs.
