Colonel,

[[line illegible]] Fred [[illegible]] Samuel Green, that her child [[illegible]] had been apprenticed by the County Court of Brunswick County to Joseph Green her former owner without her knowledge or consent Mr Green appeared at my Office this day and made a statement that the child had been apprenticed to him in June last by the
County Court at his request that the boy have [[illegible]] and said [[illegible]] and that his
Mother had been [[illegible]] that she was
unable to be [[illegible]] that  on the above facts
being [[illegible]] of the Court the boy
was bound to [[illegible]] held that the Mother
was not a [[illegible]] person to have control of
said child. That the boy "Fred" had been found
to have to work for his Mother previous to said
