States,
That her husband John Washington lived in Sampson Co. before the war, and was the slave of Elias Fason of said Co. that when the Union Army fist came into No. Ca. he ran away and joined it. That on account of this and having heard of threats made by Mr. Elias Fason that he would kill him if he returned to that Co. he was for a long time afraid to do so. but that in January last he did move back to Sampson County. 
That herself, husband and one child had been living in Bladen Co., and that about the last part of the month of March last, her husband started with a wagon containing their household goods and their child Sarah Jane, about five years old, on his way to their new home in Duplin Co. leaving her behind until he should return for her. That this was the last time she saw her husband and child. That about two weeks after her husband left, Mr Griffith Stiff of Duplin Co. who lives seven miles from Warsaw - with when her husband had argeed to work -
