NARA 569 R.46. B.R.F. and A.L. N.C. 1867 Wilmington N.C. February 13 1867 Rutherford Allan Lt. Col. and Supt. Reports that the Steamer Flora McDonald is lying on the bank of the Cape Fear River. Believes her to be the property of the U.S. and suggests that the matter be looked into. Rec'd Bu. R.F. and A.L. N.C. Feb 16 '67 Bureau R.F.& A.L. Hd. Qrs. Asst. Comr N.C. Chur A.A.A.G. with the information that I have no official knowledge of the wreck referred to but learn that thee are two wrecks on the Cape Fear River and that the same are claimed by the wrecking company at Wilmington N.C.
