Dear Sir
I hasten to reply to your communication setting forth a complaint of Levi McMillan,"Freedman"  
The parties Daniel Patterson & Alexander Patterson were this day arrested & brought before me & upon the examination of Robt. H. Lyon Constable it appears that the complaint is not only false but groundless
My elucidation of the matter together with the examination of the officer Lyon I hope will obviate the necessity of your taking further notice of the matter.  We both being sworn officers, I have sent the examination of Mr Lyon for your satisfaction
