Capt. A Rutherford

Dear Sir,

When I left Wilmington you were so kind as to offer to collect my money that was due me for the service of my boy, Mr Bryan and Gay living in the country had him employed. They owe me 14 dollars. I will be very thankful to you if you will collect it and send it to me. I am very much in want of it at this time. My boy has had the chills ever since I left here and is not able to work and I can't support the three, I stand in need of every cent, please collect it as soon as you can and oblige yours very respectfully
