Dear Sir
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of yours a day or two since and have taken pains to inform myself as to the grievances of which you say complaint has been made After diligent enquiry the only care I can hear of that leaves any resemblance to the grievance complained of is that an old gentleman who requested or forbid large crowds from gathering on his premises on the Sabbath and I do know that the colored people are not only allowed to attend the churches where the whites do but that they hold their own meetings whenever and wherever they choose unmolested by any one And as County Solicitor I should
