Sir,

I am instructed by the Commanding General to state that you are authorized to employ for the military commission, one citizen clerk at a salary of Four ($4) dollars per day.   The employment of the phonographer and citizen clerk, reported in your communication of the 22d ult. is not approved, and their services will be dispensed with.   The fact and date of their discharge will be reported to these Headquarters.
