General
I have the honor to request that my salary as Clerk in the Office of the Supt. So. Dist. N.C. Bu. R. F. & A.L. be raised from one hundred to one hundred and twenty-five dollars per month.

As I am the only Clerk in this Office, my duties are generally of a very ardous nature, and my time pretty constantly employed; necessary expenses are in this place, very heavy indeed, and I therefore most respectfully, and earnestly request that this application will meet your approval.

I am General
Most respectfully
Your obedient servant.
