Hd. Qrs. Cos. of Brunswick New Hanover
Wilmington N. C. June 2nd 1866

Churchill Wynne freeman Duplin Co. N.C. appeared at these Hd. Qrs. on this day and made complaint that on Thursday night May 24th 1866 Churchill Wynne had four (4) mules taken from the yard of Mr. Wm Nuns premises, when he was at work, at the time, hauling turpentine.
The aforesaid mules was the property his father, Chad Wynne, & himself. The complainant further states that these 4 mules were taken and carried away by Marshall Harris, Wm Price, John Price and Les Price, white citizens of Duplin Co. on the night aforesaid and in the county aforesaid.
The complainant appears to the Bureau for address and requests that measures be taken to have his property restored and the guilty parties arrested
