Robert T. Joyner Deputy Sheriff of Columbus County being sworn according to law, deposeth and says that on the day of the accident he went to the house of Mr. Plummer and saw Hannah and asked her if Mr. P. had shot her on purpose or accidentally. She Hannah declared that she thought it entierally accidental, and that she thought Mr. Plummer her best friend. Mr. Plummer was intoxicated that evening, and seemed to be greatly distressed at the accident, and from the declarations of Hannah I did not think it right to arrest Plummer.

I live near to Plummer and was called immediately to attend the patient and found Mr. Plummer at the bedside of Hannah. he was endeavouring to administer comfort to her. He wished me to do all I could for her benefit he expressed much anxiety in regard to the accident - examined the wound and found it to be a flesh wound - attended with no
