Genr'l Rutherford

I rec'd your communications in regard to April Lessesse I have not seized his property but I did levy an execution on his crop by lien on said crop for the rent but I took charge of it myself and told his Wife to use it untill he the said - April - Should return from prison and that if he would not satisfy the lien that I would be responsible for the debt and persuaded Mr Bryan that we would not sell this property through advised by Jno A Richardson to sell as respect in general No 10 Shall he had to the priorty of Liens also in General 24 & 32 current series. I got 1/2 bushel of corn from April Lessesne's wife to feed my horse and offered pay to pay both but they have refused it and most candidly that is all the property that has been removed.
Very Respfully &c
