Mr Williamson confesed [[confessed]] to me that he had whiped [[whipped]] the girl and broken the peace & I found him in a bond of fifty dollars for his appearance to October Court Now sir I have given all I know of the case & hope it will give satisfaction as far as I am concerned at any rate. The husband of Dilsy has been to me since he returned from Wilmington & made proposition to give security [[strikethrough]] & [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] them out of jail I drew up the bond it was assigned & they all came out of jail last night so all is right now & only for their stuborness [[stubbornness]] might have been without any trouble I don't think I should have found them all guilty if they would have let me hear the case perhaps none but Dilsey
I am Sir yours with respect
Tho's. W. Barden J.P.

PS
As for the calling to his brother for a gun is a freak I heard nothing for except what you wrote had been reported by your informant that is said to be an absolute falsehood though I cannot say myself what it is as I do not know
Yours &c. T.W.B.
