Respectfully returned to Lieut. Jn. F. Gallagher AAA Genl. with the information that Edward Reed colored has been found at work under the Globe Hotel in this city where he is at work as a barber. He does not deny that he is the husband of Margaret Reed & the father of her children but he claims that he was forced to marry her in Slavery Times, that he has no affection for her and that she is of such a quarrelsome disposition that he cannot and will not live with her. He says if the children are given with his control he will support them.
