no school building for any class of children within eight miles of this point. That a large share of the colored children outside of the Asylum have no employment and are becoming lawless and vicious for want of moral and educational training. 

I would further represent that the Am. Miss. Association under whose guardianship the Asylum is now being conducted, and in whose care is the $500 pledged, will erect the building required in a plain substantial style, fifty feet long, thirty two wide, one story high, divided into one large and two recitation rooms

The season is so far advanced, the earliest possible action is requested.
