I have the honor represent for the consideration of the Assistant Commissioner.

That the room occupied by our Bank prior to August 1st was very inconvenient for the transaction of our business and it being a back room on the second floor was not easy of access or calculated to invite the attention of the people. I have therefore, by advice of the Executive Committee of this Branch leased from Hon. Silas N. Martin, the building (consisting of two rooms) located on Dock Street, north side, between Front and Water streets for the term of three years from August 1st 1868 at a yearly rental of $350. payable monthly. The building is well located and with the improvements now being made upon it, completed will be one of the finest Banking Rooms in the city. The rent is lower than we are paying in most of the cities in the South. At
