Trustees Cyrus Guzder Kaiwan Kalyaniwalla [[Stamp]]JNAF JEHANGIR NICHOLSON ART FOUNDATION December 4, 2013 Re: Jehangir Nicholson Art Foundation Dear Zarina Hashmi, The Jehangir Nicholson Collection comprises nearly 800 works of modern and contemporary art from India, procured between 1968 and 2001, and dating back to 1930. It comprises paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture by 250 Indian artists. The Collection shall for the next 15 years be housed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya at Mumbai, formerly The Prince of Wales Museum, where it adds a modern and contemporary dimension to the Museum. The director of the museum is Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The Collection is held by a private foundation represented by Cyrus Guzder and Kawaii Kalyaniwalla, the Executors of the estate of Jehangir Nicholson. Dadiba Pundole, Ranjit Hoskote and Mehlli Gobhai form the Foundation's Advisory Committee. Anupam Sah is the head of conservation at the museum. Kartik Mahyavanshi, the collection's supervisor, has looked after the collection for the last 20 years. We are building a research archive in which we are trying to collect from each artist in the collection, a copy of their catalogues and publications, books, all dissertations, films and their own writing, such as articles and letters, whether as photocopies, scanned documents, or in the actual. Do let me know if you would consider donating material to this archive. The Foundation would also request permission to reproduce the images of your works in the collection. This license shall only be for activities, which are conducted for the benefit of the Foundation, and for building our archives.
