All's Ready For Biggest Party Set Today, Mercy Ball Benefit

Committee Meets With Mrs. William H. Danforth, Prominent Visitors To Be Greeted During Dinner

FINAL PLANS for today's biggest social event, the Relief Wings mercy ball, were made when committee members were guests of Mrs. William H. Danforth Thursday in the Surf club...Among them Mrs. Dorothy Lee Ward, patroness chairman; Mr. and Mrs. Stephen A. Lynch, jr., Ruth Nichols, holder of many aviation records, and Ya-ching Lee, Chinese aviatrix.
The two fliers are active members of Relief Wings and sponsoring the ball, as well as organizing a Florida branch of the organization.
Many patrons will entertain tonight at the event in Colonial Inn, Hallandale. Among prominent visitors to attend will be Mrs. William A. Moffett, arriving today from Washington to be house guest of Mrs. Ward.

Mrs. Moffett is the widow of the late Admiral Moffett, designated as father of naval aviation, who was a frequent visitor to Miami. Her son, Ensign Charles Moffett, will receive his "wings" at Opa-Locka Monday.
Other guests of Mrs. Ward at the ball will include Anjer Delmonte, concert and opera singer; former Senator and Mrs. Marcus A. Coolidge, Fitchburg, Mass.
Proceeds will be used to provide aviation facilities to aid disaster victims in this country and in China, where air relief is urgently needed because of disruption of railroad and other transportation.

Also Will Entertain
Patrons with reservations tonight include the Alfred I. Bartons, Leslie Buswells and John Humphrey Crawfords, who will entertain for their house guest, Mrs. Lewis L. Brinsmade, New York. The Walter L. Richardses also will be hosts to a group including their house guests, Mrs. Jean Woertz Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Newhall, New Yorkers.
Others who will entertain are Mrs. Margaret Bliss, Washington; Christian R. Lindbacks, whose guests will include Joseph A. Slatterys, Philadelphia; Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Criqui and James J. Archbolds.

Atlantans In Party
Atlantans in the party of Mr. and Mrs. Howell Ross Hanson will include her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Candler, jr.; a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Chambers; Mrs. Oda Teabeaut Sperl, Mrs. Frederick J. Paxon.
Other patrons to entertain are Mr. and Mrs. George Crandell, who will be hosts to New Yorkers; Mr. and Mrs. Luther Randall and debutante daughter Miss Helen Randall, winter visitors at the Tower.
The name of Dr. John Oliver LaGorce has been added to the list of representative patrons.

On Vacation From Studies
Miss Jean Stewart Leaves Classroom In Waynesboro, Va.

TAKING several weeks off from her studies at Fairfax Hall, Waynesboro, Va., is Miss Jean Stewart, at the Whitman with her mother, Mrs. Edward C. Stewart, Washington, Pa.

Mrs. William Allison, 2d, Allison Park, Pa., has arrived at the Pancoast after a visit in Nassau. Mrs. Allison is society editor of the Pittsburgh Press.

Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Kest, Cleveland, are vacationing at the White House.

Two couples from Huntington, L, I., are Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kalt and Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Asher, at the Blackstone.

Here for their first season are Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Gates, Indianapolis. They are at the Park Lane hotel.

David Harrison, New York, has arrived at the Blackstone to vacation with his wife and daughter.
