Miss Wong Autographs Navy Game

Special prizes, consisting of tickets autographed by Miss Anna May Wong, American-born Chinese actress, will be given to school children selling the most tickets for the Navy Relief Benefit basketball tournament, to be held in the Municipal Auditorium February 14, game officials announced today.

The tickets were provided by Miss Wong. They were both autographed by her in both Chinese and English, and each ticket bears a different personal message from Miss Wong, written in English. Miss Wong autographed the tickets just before leaving here Saturday for her home in Hollywood, California. She had been here as guest star in the "It's Fun to Be Free" show.

"It's a pleasure to be able to lend my assistance to such a worthy cause." declared the actress as she autographed the tickets. "And I'm sure that everyone here and everywhere will want to do their part to help, too, by buying tickets to the game. Those who are too far away to come to the game, can help by sending in their contributions. With the spirit being shown by the people of the United States, and the valor of her men, the Allies are bound to emerge victorious."

Featuring the benefit tournament will be a game between the service teams from the Naval Stations at Corpus Christi, Texas and Pensacola, Fla. Both teams, composed of former college basketball stars, will be battling for the service team championship of the Eighth Naval District. In addition to the game between the service teams, there will be a preliminary game between the two teams leading in the New Orleans Prep School Basketball League.

Tickets for the game are on sale at the special Navy Relief Society booth in the Maison Blanche store, and at all high schools. Prices are: reserves loges and ground floor, $1.65; unreserved ground floor and first balcony, $1.10; service men in uniform, 55 cents; unreserved gallery seats, 55 cents; prep school students. 25 cents.
