New Shop to Be Opened This Week for United China Relief

Mrs. Leon A. Hausman to Serve as Chairman of Large Group

Mrs. Leon A. Hausman of 259 Harrison avenue, Highland Park has been selected to head a new project in this community.

Under the guidance of the United China Relief, a shop will be opened at 47 Paterson street within a few days, where various types of Chinese merchandise will be offered for sale with the profits going to further aid to China. 

Use of the store, now vacant, has been donated by William Van Nuis and scores of women from this area will serve as volunteer workers. As soon as necessary cabinets and counters have been placed and decorations arranged, the shop will be opened to the public.

Mrs. Bacon Chow of Highland Park and Mrs. harry VanDyke of Stelton head the purchasing committee and have already secured Chinese merchandise including jade ornaments, rice cakes, ginger, Chinese tea (which will of course be rationed), linens, damasks, ornaments and gifts to be placed on sale. Mrs. Harry W. Scruton, whose husband serves as treasurer for the British War Relief Society, will act in a like capacity for this new pro-
