Chinese Aviatrix Here Saturday

   Lee Ya-Ching (above), first Chinese woman to win a pilot's license in her homeland will fly to Rockford Saturday in the interests of the current United China Relief fund campaign to aid Chinese refugees and war orphans. The aviatrix is the only Chinese woman member of the famous Caterpillar club, composed of pilots, who have saved their lives by parachute jumps. She fell into San Francisco bay from a stunt plane in 1935. She learned to fly at Geneva, Switzerland in 1933 and at a school in California before returning to China to serve as a flying instructor. She returned to this counry in 1938. During her visit here she is scheduled for an appearance at the Coronado theater and over radio station WROK in behalf of the relief drive. She will continue to Springfield Sunday, and Peoria Monday.
