Chinese Woman Flying Here With Plane To Be Put on Block

Lee Ya Ching, China's first woman flier and her nation's only member of the famous Caterpillar Club, was to arrive at La Guardia Field today in an Aeronca Super Chief airplane, which will be auctioned nationally for the benefit of United China Relief.

Miss Lee in the two-place pleasure craft donated to United China Relief by the Aeronca Corp. of Middletown, Ohio, made stops at Columbus, Cleveland, Buffalo, Syracuse and Albany on her way east. The plan decorated with the lucky lion symbol of the Relief organization will be placed on exhibition in Times Sq. during the countrywide auction.

Miss Lee has flown more than 35,000 miles in this country appealing for funds for medical aid to China. Dr. Tsune-chi Yu, Chinese Consul General in New York, and Dr. Lu Sing-yu, Consul, were among those to meet her at the airport.
