I, George Smith, a resident of Brunswick County, N.C., am personally acquainted with Cloe Wright, Susan Howard & Dina Howard, destitute Freedwomen, who reside at Col Howards Plantation on Town Creek, Brunswick County, N.C., and state, to the best of my knowledge and belief, that they are unable to maintain themselves, and have no friends to assist them, and are worthy of charity from the government.
