Your favor containing information concerning the Freed'mns. School at Smithfield was duly rec'd. I thank you for your kindness in complying with my request. When the school-house is completed and ready for occupancy, I will need teachers, if I can obtain them I presume the Bureau will be willing, if necessary to pay a rent of $8 or $10 per month.

Shall feel greatly obliged to you for any future efforts of yours in behalf of the school, or any or any information in regard to educational matters in your Dist.
