Johnston Cty NC Febry 9th 1867 J Curran Esqr Sir - I have recd per Martha your note. I have rendered to her a true account of her childs acct. I took the girl for nothing but her board & clothes - but told her I would give her 8/00 per month if she was worth it. She was almost naked when I took her - not clothes enough to hide her nakedness. I have given her two suits of old clothes that I have made no charge for. She is now in my debt fourteen dollars & thirty five cents, which I want some assurance of getting. I don't feel willing that she should leave without being paid- I would like that you come over to Mrs. Smith's tomorrow, that you may here both sides of the case from each. I shall leave tomorrow evening, & shall not return until one day next week - So come tomorrow morning if it is Sunday. Respectfully D.T. Moore
