for the position - The relations of the orphan protest against the child being apprenticed to him, and propose furnishing the child a home and providing for [??] the child tender years of age - How shall I act? Shall I determine between the parties, taking into consideration the facility of each for the position or shall I decline to apprentice the orphan and hand it over to the uncles and aunts If handed over to uncles & aunts shall I require of them bonds with security for the proper care, support, maintenance and education of such orphan - I would be pleased to hear your instructions in full on the apprentice system and especially as to the character of cases indicated above at your very earliest convenience.
