Dear Sir:
I beg to acknowledge receipt of your application for a position with Canadian Airways Limited as pilot in reply to our advertisement in the magazine AVIATION.

At the present time we have no vacancies on our staff, but in the next month or so we hope to be participating in the British Empire Air Training Scheme. At that time we will require quite a number of experienced pilots and instructors. Pilots will be required for piloting medium size, twin- engine aircraft on wheels, both day and night flying, for training of observers and navigators. Instructors will be required as instructors on light, single- engine aircraft - De Havilland Tiger Moth and Fleet Trainers for elementary training of pilots.
It will not be necessary for you to take out Canadian citizenship papers, and you will be in a civilian occupation although you would be training pilots and observers for the Royal Canadian Air Force.
If you are interested in a proposition such as this, would you be good enough to fill in the enclosed Pilot's Application Form and return it to us for our files. Would you also be good enough to state what salary you would expect.

Yours very truly,
G.A Thompson
