Mr. Edward W. Elwell
111 John Street
New York, N. Y.

Dear Mr. Elwell:

Since I spoke to you on the telephone last week I have received two letters from United Air Lines. Enclosed please find copies of each.

The first letter is from Mr. E. J. Martin, Ass't Supt. Flight Operations, who interviewed me yesterday, February 20th, in reference to this matter of my employment by United Air Lines. Mr. Martin probably was prompted in interviewing me by your letter. He took down my pedigree practically duplicating the information I had already supplied his company in the application I filed, and his general attitude towards me seemed to be favorable. However, he said he would forward his recommendation to Mr. Myers. This morning I received the second letter from Mr. G. I. Myers and he suggested that I contact Mr. Martin which I had already done. These letters will probably bring your information up to date in the matter of my employment by United Air Lines.

I greatly appreciate the trouble that you have gone to in obtaining for me this interview. I am in hopes of an offer for a position.

With kindest regards, I am,

Sincerely yours,

Michael A. Gitt
