Upper age limits are to the nearest birthday

In general, an applicant will not be appointed when his age is such that he will be discharged or retired for age-in-grade within 4 years of such appointment.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS

The Physical standards prescribed for the Naval Reserve are the same as those prescribed for the Regular Navy, with due consideration however for age-in-grade and the character of duty to be assigned in the event of a war or a national emergency.
