CAL-AERO CORP.
GRAND CENTRAL AIR TERMINAL, GLENDALE, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
TELEPHONE CHAPMAN 51222

June 11, 1940

Mr. Michael A. Gitt,
822 Park Avenue,
Plainfield,
New Jersey.

Dear Sir:

Your telegram received, for which we thank you. We are enclosing our application blank, which we would appreciate your filling out completely and returning, together with a small photograph if possible. At the present time, we are offering experienced instructors $250.00 a month, with $25.00 raises every three months, until $350.00 is reached.

As you probably know, you will have to pass a preliminary check flight by the Air Corps Supervisor, then take our instructors course (for which there is no charge) consisting of a maximum of 25 hours flying time, then pass a final check flight by the Air Corps Supervisor which is a check on your ability to instruct, rather than your actual flying ability. On passing this final check, you are then employed by this school. If trained and accepted by this school, we require that you stay with us for at least one year. We will allow you $3.00 a day expense money from the time you pass your final check until you actually go to work instructing, in lieu of salary.

As we are in the process of hiring several instructors at this school we would appreciate a prompt reply whether you are interested or not. On receipt of your application, we will advise you whether to come to Glendale or not.

Yours very truly,

H C Claiborne
