Mr. Michael A. Gitt
822 Park Avenue
Plainfield, N.J.

Dear Mr. Gitt:

This will acknowledge receipt of your letter of January 27th. We are enclosing one of our application forms which we suggest you fill out in detail and return to this office at your earliest convenience. Do not overlook attaching a small, clear photograph of yourself to the application. You should also include a statement of your height and weight.

It is expected that openings for co-pilots with United Air Lines during the coming year will develop early in the spring and will continue well into the summer. Prior to the active employment season, we wish to receive applications from men who have their Commercial and Instrument Ratings so we can study their qualifications, classify the men in accordance with the qualifications shown on their applications, and thus be in a position to fill openings as they occur from applicants who appear to be best qualified. Before any commitments are made with respect to employment, arrangements will be made for an interview with a representative of our Flight Operations Department. In all cases applicants selected for consideration will be required to successfully pass a physical examination before they can be accepted for employment.

Accordingly, your application, when received, will be given careful attention. We will get in touch with you at a later date should your qualifications, as shown on your application, appear to be suitable.

Very truly yours,
R.T. Freng
