Flight Instructions Manual 201

while the airplane is in the inverted position before the loop is completed.
A loop is entered with sufficiently sharp pull up to allow the airplane to have the required speed for a snap roll when the longitudinal axis is about 20° above the level inverted position. Here full rudder in the desired direction of roll and stick, all the way back, are applied. At about 90° to the desired direction of recovery, apply full opposite rudder and ease the stick to a position slightly forward of neutral. The recovery should be made on the back, wings level and on the proper heading. From this position a normal loop recovery is made. The principal difficulty in completing the roll on top lies in the loss of bearings required to recognize the airplane's positions.
