With reference to your letter for February 3rd, 1941, to Captain H.F. Mitchell, in which you request permission to make the necessary flights to enable  you to retain your instructor's rating, such flying to be done only at your regular time off periods, please be advised that your request is granted subject to the following conditions:

(a) That, before making any such flights, you will contact the Flight Superintendent on duty, advise him of the day and time you wish to leave to make the flight and of the time that you will return and be available for assignment, and obtain his permission for you to divert your time off to this activity for the period in question.

(b) That you release Canadian Colonial Airways Inc. from any and all liability while engaged in any flying other than in connection with your regular duties as a pilot with this company by signing in the space provided below for your signature, indicating your acceptance of these provisions and have it witnessed by a responsible party.
