data observed at the standard level immediately below the maximum observed altitude, and a separate group for the maximum altitude data will not be sent.

2-910. Identifying Levels for Which Data are Sent. — The presence or absence of specific identifying code figures is used to identify the particular levels for which data are coded. The code symbol for this identifying figure is Ha. The figures are Code Symbol Ha are always used to identify the particular standard levels listed below:

[[two columned table]]
|Ha|Level|
|---|---|
|0|Surface; 10,000; 20,000; 30,000; 40,000 feet, etc.|
|2|2,000; 12,000 feet.|
|4|4,000; 14,000 feet.|
|5|25,000; 35,000; 45,000 feet, etc.|
|6|6,000 feet.|
|8|8,000 feet|

Identifying code figures are never used to identify the following standard levels: 1,000; 3,000; 5,000; 7,000; 9,000; 11,000; 13,000; 15,000 feet.

2-911. Oder of Symbols and Groups in Complete Report. — The order of the symbols in a group and of the groups in a complete message is as follows:

[[Six Columned Tabled]]
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| I1I1I1G1G1 | (or I1I1G1G1) | HaDDvv | DDvv | HADDvv | DDvv.... |
| HaDDvv | HaDDvv | HaDDvv.... |

NOTE: The above order is used at stations whose elevations are above sea level, or 2,000, 4,000, 6,000, 8,000 and 10,000 feet and which also are more than 200 feet below the standard levels 1,000, 3,000, 5,000, 7,000, 9,000 and 11,000 feet, respectively.

Pilot balloon stations whose elevations are above 1,000, 3,000, 5,000, 7,000, or 9,000 feet and which also are more than 200 feet below the standard levels 2,000, 4,000, 6,000, 8,000 or 10,000 feet, respectively, will use the following order:

[[Six Columned Tabled]]
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| I1I1I1G1G1 | (or I1I1G1G1) | HaDDvv | HaDDvv | DDvv | HaDDvv |
| DDvv.... | HaDDvv | HaDDvv | HaDDvv.... |

The order of the symbols within a group and of the groups within a pilot balloon message from a ship station is as follows:

[[Seven Columned Tabled]]
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| YQLLL | 111GG | HaDDvv | DDvv | HaDDvv | DDvv.... | HaDDvv |
| HaDDvv | HaDDvv.... |

2-912. Definition of Code Symbols:
I1I1I1 (or I1I1)= Station Designator. (Letters are used.)
G1G1= Time on 24 hour clock systen in Tastern Standard Time.
Ha= Altitude of standard level for which data in that group applies.
DD= Wind direction (to nearest 10° points on a 360° compass).
vv= Wind velocity (in miles per hour).
