Captain H.E. Clark
Colonial Airlines Inc.
La Guardia Field
New York, New York.

Dear Captain Clark,

From time to time there may be an opportunity for me to do some extra flying for the Sperry Gyroscope Co. at La Guardia Field. This flying will consist principally of flight testing instruments and equipment. The work will not not interfere with my dutiess with Colonial Airlines.
Since it has been the policy of the company to sanction extra flying of this sort by the flight personnel, and since it will help in my work as an airline pilot by my becoming familiar with the latest equipment, I hereby request permission to do this flying.
Thanking you for any courtesy you may show me in this matter, I am,

Very truly yours

Michael A. Gitt
