purpose of qualifying or retaining his qualifications on a route of equipment or at his own request and with the approval of the Company, he shall receive his regular base pay only, and any mileage so flown shall not be included in his total monthly mileage for mileage pay computation purposes.

(b) When a qualified and designated first pilot is assigned, at the request of the Company, to serve as a co-pilot member of a flight crew, he shall receive in addition to base pay, hourly and mileage pay at first pilot rates.

MISCELLANEOUS FLYING:
Sec. 12.
(a) When available, a regularly assigned first pilot or reserve pilot shall be assigned to all scheduled flights.

(b) When a qualified first or reserve pilot is scheduled by the Company and available and is not used, and any official or employee of the Company, other than a regularly assigned first or reserve pilot, shall act as first pilot on any scheduled trip or extra section thereof, the pilot compensation, at regular rates, for such trip shall be credited and paid to the pilot or reserve pilot assigned to the pilot division, or divisions, over which the flight is made and who normally would have made the flight.

TRAVELING EXPENSES:
Sec. 13.
Pilots, when away from their home domiciles on regular or special duty, shall receive expenses as follows:
(a) LODGING
1. Pilots, when laying over at regular layover stations, shall be furnished suitable lodging by the Company.

2. Pilots, when at other than their regular layover stations, shall receive actual expenses incurred for lodging.

(b) MEALS
1. When a first pilot, or a reserve pilot acting as a first pilot, is delayed at his normal layover station away from his home base, he shall receive meal
