Sec. 26.
Pilot assignments shall be classed as permanent or temporary. Any run which has been in regular operation for eight consecutive months shall be considered as basis for a permanent assignment at bases where pilots are assigned to particular runs, provided that if the needs of the service require, a temporary run may be extended beyond such eight consecutive months for a period of not to exceed thirty days, without being considered a basis for a permanent assignment. An assignment based on a temporary run which may later become permanent, shall not be rebulletined until a vacancy exists thereon.

The senior pilot bidding shall be assigned to fill such vacancy.
