16. "How do you hear me now?"    To check planes transmitter later if number 15 has been used.

17. "Runway zero wun - Ceiling fi-yiv hundred feet - Visibility two miles - Wind north eleven - Light haze on the runway - Field elevation four wun zero feet."    All pertinent information of this type will be given when convenient while the aircraft is in the pattern. (Exact time of transmission will depend on local conditions).

18. "You are on downwind leg - You are six miles south of the field - Maintain your present heading and altitude."    Transmissions of this type will be used to fill in so that the pilot knows that the controller is in contact with him.

19. "If on final approach you lose radio contact, (instructions) and contact (facility) on (frequency) - Acknowledge."    If the safety tone is not used, this procedure will be used to provide instructions if communications are lost on final.

20. "Perform cockpit check - Wheels down."    
When the aircraft is at the altitude at which the final approach will be started and again when turn to final approach is to be made, pilot will perform cockpit check.

21. "Army 1234 - this is Langley GCA Final Controller - How do you hear me?"    Initial transmission from the Final Controller.

22. "The broken tone is your safety signal - It indicates radio contact - If this tone stops climb immediately to two thousand feet and call tower on Channel Baker - Is this understood?"
If tone background is used to indicate radio contact on final.

23. "Do not acknowledge further instructions." - After radio contact is established on final. 

24. "Distance from touch down - Six miles." - To indicate distance from the end of the runway. (Used about once per mile).

25. "Your heading is good" or "You are on course." - To indicate that the aircraft is on course.

26. "Maintain your present altitude." - To keep aircraft level until time to begin descent.

27. "Begin your descent at fi-yiv  hundred feet per minute." - TO start aircraft down when it approaches the glide path.

28. "Your altitude is good." - To indicate that the aircraft is on the glide path.
