SUBJECT: Filing of Air Carrier Flight Plans

Scheduled air carrier flight plans will contain the air carrier name (contraction if transmitted by teletype), trip number, the type of aircraft, route of flight, cruising altitudes, estimate over first fix, and indicated air speed.

Example: AMERICAN TWENTY-EIGHT DC FOUR FIVE THOUSAND SOUTH BEND THREE THOUSAND WILLOW RUN TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES SOUTH BEND TWO ONE FIVE.

Variation in Indicated Air Speed. There is a new requirement that any time the average indicated air speed at cruising altitude between fixes varies or is expected to vary by 5 miles per hour or more plus or minus, this information will be furnished to ATC.
