AMENDMENT TO NEW YORK AIRWAY TRAFFIC CONTROL CENTER OPERATIONS LETTER NUMBER 14, SUPPLEMENT NO. 1

LAGUARDIA AIRPORT TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER OPERATIONS LETTER NUMBER 2

SUBJECT: Approach Control Procedurres, New York(LaGuardia Field) Tower, LaGuardia Field, N.Y.

EFFECTIVE: March 1, 1947

Supplement Number 1 of the New York Airway Traffic Control Center Operations Letter Number 14 is amended by adding the following paragraphs to Section III: 

K. When requested by a pilot, 2000 feet vertical separation will be provided between aircraft holding in the outer ADF pattern and aircraft holding at 4500 feet in the inner ADF pattern. 

L. When requested by a pilot, aircraft may be cleared to hold northeast of Port Chester or southwest of Coney Island in lieu of holding in the ADF pattern. When holding at these intersections, the pilot will be cleared for a straight-in instrument approach. 

M. Departing aircraft routed by Glen Cove or Great Neck intersections over the Idlewild Range and the Riis Park intersection will be cleared to cross Idlewild at 3500 feet and to climb to 3500 feet on the east edge of the on-course signal of the Idlewild Range. Altitude separation will be provided between such departing aircraft and aircraft holding in the Flatbush ADF pattern or holding southwest of Coney Island.
