Section 3032 PRIOR TO FLIGHT

B.
B. FIRST OFF. PROCED. BEFORE ACCEPTING AIRCRAFT (Cont'd)

4. All de-icer tanks should be full. A check of de-icer motors and umps should be made. Do not pump excessive fluid on wind-shields as they may smear.

5. Retard the throttles to check landing gear horn, then place landing gear handle in neutral. Notice the red warning light goes out and green on. Check both day and night position.

6. Put Seat Belt, No Smoking and Cabin Light switches on.

A complete check of all radio equipment must be made. This includes all equipment functions and antenna selections, i.e., on DC-3's for example, the Aux receiver must be checked on positions 1 and 2 and also as a manual loop receiver in position 3. Check the loop for noise, null position, and tuning. This check may be made while waiting for the engines to warm up during ground run-up.

Check all cockpit lights and if a night flight, turn on Navigation, Warning and flasher light.

Co-pilot should insure that there is an ample supply of fuel and oil aboard and should move all engine controls through their entire operating range of travel to see that they function smoothly without binding.

If any malfunctioning is present, advise maintenance promplty [[promptly]] so correction can be made.
