REGULATIONS

FLIGHT

[underline] Section 3302 - EMERGENCY PROCEDURE - COCKPIT PROCEDURE IN CASE OF ENGINE FAILURE OR SINGLE ENGINE OPERATION [/underline]

1. Advance propeller pitch control on live engine to 2100 RPM.

2. Advance throttle live engine to 35" boost.

3. Retract landing gear and flaps (slowly).

4. Mixture control live engine to full rich or automatic rich position.

5. Adjust rudder fletners to counteract pull of live engine.

6. Close throttle bad engine.

7. Pull propeller pitch control bad engine full back to low RPM (high pitch) position.

8. Push mixture control of bad engine to idle cut off position.

9. Feather dead engine by actuating valve on upper part of bulk head pilot commpartment or pressing feathering button on overhead panel. (Close valve as soon as prop. is featehred. Pull out feathering button if it does not come out by itself as soon as prop. reaches full feather.)

10. Shut off gas bad engine.

11. Close cross feed if airplane so equipped.

12. After engine stops running, shut off ignition switch bad engine.

13. Close oil radiator shutters on bad engine.

14. Close cowl flaps.

15. In winter, if right engine is in-operative, close nose valve as soon as possible.

16. If flight cannot be maintained on one engine dump sufficient gas so flight can be maintained on one engine.

17. In cargo ships jettisoncargo for single engine operation if necessary.
