SECTION 3302A.

EMERENCY PROCEDURE: COCKPIT PROCEDURE IN CASE OF RUNAWAY PROPELLER

1. Pull up airplane, and retard throttles so as to reduce forward speed.

2. Determine which engine is overspeeding.

3. Place mixture in idle cut off and cut ignition switch on runaway engine.

4. Feather propeller.

If cause of propeller malfunctioning is of a nature preventing feathering, continue flight at air speed sufficiently low to hold engine speed within reasonable limits.

5. Adjust throttle on remaining engine to hold permissable airspeed.

6. If a runaway propeller occurs during take-off, take-off should be discontinued if possible. If not possible, return to the field as soon as possible.
