Section 3421 - Operations Specifications-Airport (cont'd)
Airport, a visibility reduction of 1/4 mile below the minimum specified in the Operations Specifications-Airport is authorized until a minimum visibility is reduced to 1/2 mile, there is ceiling of 1000 feet or more, depending on the basic minimum specifies in the Operations Specifications-Airport.
(b) Aircraft make and model: Douglas C-54-DC, Lockheed 49, Boeing 307
Except where otherwise specified in the Operations Specifications-Airport, with each increase of 200 feet in ceiling above the minimum specified in the Operations Specifications-Airport a visibility reduction of 1.4 mile below the minimum specified in the Operations Specifications-Airport is authorized until a minimum visibility is reduced to 1 mile is reached, provided that, when visibility is reduced to 1 mile, there is a ceiling of 1000 feet or more, depending on the basic minimum specified in the Operations Specifications-Airport.
The application of the sliding scale shall not require higher minimums for a regular stop than are required for the same airport when used as an alternate.
VII. Descent below Authorized Landing Minimums
Except at airports where approved landing minimums are not less than 1000 feet ceiling and not less than 2 miles visibility, no air carrier aircraft in scheduled air transportation, after becoming contact, shall descend more than 50 feet below the altitude specified in the landing ceiling minimums, Operations Specifications-Airport, until and unless said aircraft is in a position to make a normal, straight-in approach to the runway to be used and at least the near end of said runway, or the approach lights or other approved identifiable markings leading thereto, is/are plainly visible to the pilot.
If, at any time after commencement of the normal, straight-in approach escribed above, visual reference becomes less than that specified above, the approach will be abandoned and the pilot will execute the "missed approach" procedure specified in the Operations Specifications-Airport.
VIII. Determination of Allowable Gross Weight for Take-Off-DC-3 Type Aircraft and Lockheed 18 Type Aircraft
The gross weight (up to allowable authorized provisional gross) which is authorized for take-off from any runway on any airport included in the Operations Specifications-Airport, and on the
