Section 3514-Route Procedure-Washington-Ottawa (Cont'd.)

2. Instrument and over the top operation will proceed as follows:

A. Washington-Ottawa-Montreal

Conform to airway traffic control instructions for the area in which you happen to be. Route to be followed Northbound is as follows: Northeast leg of Washington range to the intersection of the west leg of Baltimore range station or make a good track of 65ยบ from Washington to the south leg of Baltimore range station.

From Baltimore proceed toward Seven Valleys along the south leg of Harrisburg. Intersect the southwest leg of Allentown range at the Seven Valleys marker. For landing at Reading, descend to 2000' after passing the Seven Valleys marker on the southwest leg of Allentown. Reading must be reporting at least 1500-2 on the equivalent by using the sliding scale before descent can be made to 2000'. If CFR conditions exist, proceed to Reading CFR for landing. If not contact by the time Lancaster intersection is intercepted climb immediately to minimum instrument altitude and proceed to Allentown.

Or from Baltimore proceed out the north leg of the Baltimore range station descending to 2000' at FLA if landing at Reading (see conditions above for Reading landing.) Descend to 2000' at the Lancaster intersection and if not contact two minutes after passing the Lancaster intersection on the southwest leg of Allentown climb immediately to minimum instrument altitude (3000') and proceed to the Allentown, Wilkes Barre intersection. From the intersection of the southwest leg of Allentown and south leg of Wilkes Barre proceed on the south leg of Wilkes Barre to the Wilkes Barre range station. From Wilkes Barre proceed to Syracuse along the north leg of Wilkes Barre range station to the Lake Carey intersection. At Lake Carey intersection change over to Syracuse range and proceed along south leg of Syracuse range to Syracuse. For instrument flight from Syracuse to Ottawa proceed along the nort leg of Syracuse to Smith Falls, the intersection of the north leg of Syracuse, east leg of Stirling and southwest leg of Ottawa. From Smith Falls proceed to Ottawa along the southwest leg of the Ottawa range. From Ottawa to Montreal proceed along the east leg of Ottawa until the west leg of Montreal is intercepted and continue to Montreal.

B. Montreal-Ottawa-Washington

From Montreal proceed to Ottawa along the west leg of the Montreal range station to the overlap of the east leg of the Ottawa range station. From Ottawa proceed along the southwest leg of the Ottawa range to the Smith Falls intersection. From the Smith Falls intersection change over to the Syracuse range and proceed to Syracuse along the north leg of the Syracuse range. From Syracuse proceed south along the south leg of Syracuse to Lake Carey and then to Wilkes Barre along the north leg of Wilkes Barre range station. From Wilkes Barre if landing at Reading (Reading and Allentown must both be reporting 1500-2 or equivalent using sliding scale.) proceed along the south leg of Wilkes Barre to the intersection of the northwest leg of Allentown. (Slatington marker) Proceed descending to Allentown range crossing the Allentown range at 2000' and proceed under CFR conditions
