DRAFT OF FOLLOW-UP LETTER TO BE DATED
SEPTEMBER 30 OR OCTOBER 1.

(Suggestion: Before sending out the follow-up questionaire, strike the following from 14-b on page 2: "though separated,", so that the question will read: "b. If married, date of birth._____")
---

The response to our initial request to Members to execute a questionaire showing information needed to work out a proper retirement system for pilots has been extremely gratifying. More than _____ per cent of all the Members have responded. There are a few Members, however, who, doubtless for what has seemed to them good reasons, have failed to respond to this request. You are one of those.

The working out of a retirement system is of interest to every Member of this association. The experience that every Member, whether or not he is active now, will also be of use because only on the basis of the over-all experience can we determine how long, on the average, pilots work at their job; how old they were when they became pilots and when they cease to be; why it is that those who have ceased to be pilots have decided to go elsewhere; and the numbers and ages of active pilot's dependents. If you are not a pilot now and do not expect to be again, do not think that you will not be able to help us. We need the information which you have and if you are still working as a pilot you have every reason to give us all the information called for.

We ask again therefore that you take the time to fill out this questionaire and send it in at the earliest possible minute. Only if you do can we get the complete information which we need to complete this extremely important task to which we have set our hands.
