Dear Members:

Attached is a copy of letter dated June 26 from Mr. W. H. Proctor of American Airlines. It is on a very interesting subject, in which all of you are deeply interested.

Much to the surprise of all concerned, H. R. 2744, the Reserve Officers Pension Bill, was passed during the final days of Congress. Everyone was boosting for this Bill. The Air Line Pilots Association was interested because many of our members are, of course, reserve officers. We do not yet have a completely finished copy of the measure as it was finally signed by the President and printed by the government, due to the backlog of printing in the government printing office in Washington. As soon as we receive copies, I shall personally see that each of you receive one.

In the interim, please carefully study the attached letter, including the parts about receiving pensions from more than one source. There are several parts of this that I feel are of vital concern to our efforts to secure a pension law for the air line pilots.

With kind personal regards, I am
Sincerely yours,
AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION
David L. Behncke
